Apps and the Mobile Web: Building UX Bridges
(Jenny Gove)

Apps have been successful and popular, and in many cases provide a great user experience – while mobile web has enjoyed the benefit of being a readily accessible platform. The mobile web has taken a longer time in building itself up to greatness in terms of user experience; but over the last couple of years there’s been an issue for apps – discoverability is harder for consumers, a pain for developers and a threat to the app ecosystem.

We’ll look at mobile web and mobile app use, and how easy-access paths are being built between these two platforms. We’ll explore what is known about the intersections where users navigate between the mobile web and apps, and the developments that improve ease of access to content.
